Features
The new Tern Vektron Q9 could be the most versatile Bosch eBike on the market. Looking for portability & a efficient German assisted eBike? The Tern Vektron Q9 does just that.
The Vektron Q9 offers a unique approach to frame design. With a telescopic seat post and adjustable angle stem, it can accommodate riders from 4ft 10 to 6ft 5. A bike that suits all.
Although compact the wheel base is that of a regular bicycle, the handlebar, fork and overall geometry give for a nice smooth and comfortable ride whilst maintaining the practicalities of being able to pack this electric bike away.
Be it under the desk at work, on and off the train or stow away in the back of your car or motor home. The Tern Vektron Q9 offers up as a fully versatile and portable electric bike.
In 3 simple steps - The handlebars fold down, the frame folds in half and the seat can be retracted to fit this electric bike into even the smallest of places with ease.
The Tern folds from a complete bike down to folded format in under 10 seconds. This is due to the patented folding mechanism, which naturally folds as you release the catches. No magic involved, just excellent design!
Brakes & Gears
Fitted with Shimano MT200 hydraulic disc brakes front and rear, the Q9 is a user friendly, low maintenance experience whilst having the true braking power disc brakes bring.
Gearing on the Tern is provided by Shimano's Alivio 9 speed drive train, for simple shifting both up and down hill.
Operated using a dual action trigger shifter on the handlebars, the shadow rear mech offers the lowest profile 9-speed derailleur to help avoid knocks or damage when riding or stored.
Shimano hydraulic brakes are light on the hands but hard on the discs when needed, making it a great option for ultra-urban riding.
9 speed gearing in the form of the Shimano Alivio 11-32t group set is well balanced for on and light off road use.
Alivio trigger shifters are quick, smooth and reliable, making this the perfect commuter bike.
Wheels & Tyres
Kintex 20" wheels small enough to allow the bike to be easily stowable, but larger than most folding bikes and offer much greater stability and a larger contact patch with the ground. They're laced onto Shimano quick release hubs, making wheel removal a breeze.
The Tern Q9 comes equipped with Schwalbe Big Apple 20"x2.1" tyres. An excellent all purpose option, being a 20" wheeled bike there is a huge crossover with other styles of bike and so future tyre options are vast. More importantly they include the kevlar lining protection to help prevent annoying punctures.
The bottom line..
The Tern Vektron Q9 offers all those rider essentials including a comfort gel saddle, adjustable handlebars, comfort grips and adjustable seat post.
On top of this, the Vektron comes fully equipped with mudguards, pannier rack & side stand.
Tern have developed a fully built in LED lighting system front and rear. Completely powered off the Bosch system there is no need to carry bulbs, batteries, and they can't be easily stolen and reused.
The new Tern Vektron electric folding bike ticks the boxes for those looking for a nice ride and neat solution to travel and storage. A nice simple, but good quality electric bike, suitable for a mixture of riding styles and rider heights.
Power
The 2023 Tern Vektron Q9 features the latest Bosch Active Line eBike system. Offering a larger sprocket upfront with no internal gearing, this motor is much quieter and features little resistance when pedalling outside of the assistance.
The system is designed to be smooth and is around 30% more compact than the previous Active line. Offering support up to 270% and peak torque levels of 50Nm this system offers smooth and subtle power delivery both around town and on longer rides alike.
Tern have equipped the Bosch Purion display, a revised smaller dash that offers quick vision of essential parameters whilst occupying a minimal amount of cockpit space.
The Tern Vektron Q9 2023 comes with a bigger 400Wh battery, offering a full day in the saddle with no battery range anxiety. Support is delivered in 4 different assistance modes up to 15mph.
The Bosch Purion display is effortlessly simple to use and offers the rider "at-a-glance" speed, power mode and battery information.
The Bosch Active Line motor has long been a common feature on Tern bikes. While lower power than some others, the bike is much lighter and it gives a mighty boost in Turbo mode.

The Bosch PowerPack 400Wh battery neatly sits just below the seat, keeping the centre of gravity as low as possible for maximum stability.
What's included
Your new Tern electric bike gets a full set-up by our workshop technicians ahead of delivery.
Your Tern eBike will arrive with a user manual, keys (where applicable), charger & free follow up service (at our service center) within 3 months of delivery.
Tern electric bikes include a 5yr warranty on the frame, 2yr warranty on all the electrics and 1yr warranty on the components. In the event of a problem, we handle all warranty claims via our dedicated support in-house.
E-Bikeshop is a Tern UK eBike Service Center and our in-house workshop is exclusively reserved for our own eBike customers. We have time to support the eBikes we sell.

We generally keep over 150 eBikes built in our showroom. Note: Some models shown as 'Pre-Order' may not be in the showroom to view as the bike is still due from the supplier. We can also give you the opportunity to ride a similar electric bike so you can get a feel for how electric bikes work prior to purchase.
Should you wish to purchase, we give the option to take it away that same day (subject to stock) with any extras fitted and a handover session on the bike itself by one of our eBike experts.

"ROCK SOLID AND STABLE"
In use for 2 weeks now for daily commute. Very pleased so far with the Bosch motor, the overall concept of the bike - rock solid and stable, with very good quality components. The only thing I miss is a slightly longer handlebar stem, better suited to my height - but the adjustability is a great plus.
